Analysis of Mixer Port Crosstalk Using Microwave Matching Measurements
نویسنده
چکیده
The analysis of crosstalk between ports of integrated balanced mixers is difficult because the circuit is strongly nonlinear and the crosstalk depends on information which, if it is known at all, is not always provided by the foundry. This paper presents a general method for calculating mixer crosstalk. Device measurements are combined with periodic small-signal analysis to yield the crosstalk between any combination of mixer ports for arbitrary device sizes, terminations, and biases. An example shows the application of the procedure on predicting RF-LO crosstalk of a CMOS mixer.

A 60 GHz double balanced sub-harmonic mixer MMIC
We present the design and measured results for a 60 GHz double balanced sub-harmonic MMIC mixer fabricated using the TRW 0.15μm gate length GaAs pHEMT foundry process. The sub-harmonic mixer architecture eliminates the need for costly mm-wave sources that are usually required with conventional fundamental frequency mixers. The mixer has been integrated into a coaxial package and a measured conv...

The microwave circuit simulator MMICAD can be used to analyze and optimize the small-signal conversion and noise performance of a mixer-preamplifier. The mixer is represented as a noisy five-frequency five-port network using imported conversion and noise correlation matrices, with MMICAD’s NCSCOR5 element which contains five correlated noise sources.

Efficient models based on behavioural modelling techniques are needed for RF and microwave mixers in order to check the performances of communication systems. Here, we propose a model consisting on the cascade connection of an input equivalent filter, characterising the linear transmission and reflection memory effects, and an ideal nonlinear mixer model, providing the frequency translation and...
